ABOUT YOUR EXPEDITION
Yellowstone National Park: Peak Wildlife Migration
For wildlife fans, there’s nothing like visiting Yellowstone National Park in the spring. North America’s largest animal migration reaches its apex there in early June, offering some of the most incredible wildlife viewing on the planet. After a long journey from Yellowstone River Valley—their winter home— bison, elk, pronghorn antelope, bighorn sheep, and mule deer settle in the Lamar Valley to give birth to their young. At the same time, grizzly bears are emerging from hibernation, and wolf packs roam the region, hunting to feed their young. This unique, immersive, American safari allows you the chance to see this brief natural phenomenon while escaping the hustle and bustle of daily life for a quick but memorable four-day weekend.
Starting in Bozeman, Montana, we’ll journey north, looking for migrating animals and taking in the spectacular landscapes, before ending the day near Yellowstone National Park. Yellowstone is the first national park in the world, and the landscape and wildlife populations are well-deserving of the hype! Spend the day tracking and observing the animals by foot, relishing their momentary convergence right before your eyes before they head into the mountains for the summer! Cap off your weekend with a tour of Yellowstone’s iconic hotspots: Geyser Basins to visit Old Faithful and its neighbors, as well as Hayden Valley, the park’s “Grand Canyon”—another great wildlife destination.
Photographers will relish the chance to capture animals at this peak moment, and those looking for a true getaway into the heart of Mother Nature will most certainly find solace and perspective. With rare world-class wildlife viewing, breathtaking sweeping vistas, and Yellowstone’s best attractions at every turn, you’ll pack a lifetime of memories into a long weekend.
